The first MPs from the Opposition to clearly announce that they will not vote for the PSD-AUR censure motion: “We sought to understand the proposed solution. It does not exist”

The parliamentarians of the UNIT party announce that, although they signed the censure motion initiated by PSD and AUR, they will not vote on it on Tuesday.

The six parliamentarians of the UNIT party (entering the Parliament on the POT lists) announced on Sunday evening that they will not vote for the censure motion against the Bolojan Government.

In a post published on Facebook by deputy Andrei Csillag, he accuses the fact that the censure motion does not offer solutions and accuses PSD of deepening the economic crisis.

“We don't turn the PSD-AUR games. We don't vote for a motion without solutions! On April 20, the Social Democratic Party, the main responsible for the current economic imbalances, decided to deepen the economic crisis by superimposing a political one on it, and on April 28, with the bizarre complicity of our opposition colleagues, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians – AUR, they concretized the chaos through a political movement devoid of substance: a motion of censure that it does not propose a change of direction, but only the replacement of a man. We sought to understand the proposed solution. There is no new economic plan, only the desire to change a name.”

He states that the UNIT Party MPs had discussions with Prime Minister Bolojan.

“We have also had direct discussions with the prime minister. We have been confirmed that there is no intention to change the current policies. Under these conditions, it becomes clear that the real stake is the removal of a character who has become inconvenient, a man who has begun to 'turn on the light' in areas where old interests prefer darkness.”

Who are the current former POT MPs who are now part of the UNITE Party:

  • Aurora Tasica Simu – president, deputy from Cluj
  • Andrei Csillag – executive president, Member of Parliament for Bistrita
  • Dumitrita Albu, Diaspora deputy
  • Călin Groza, MP from Maramureș
  • Ștefan Borțun, senator from Tulcea
  • Gheorghe-Petru Pîclișan, MP for Botoșani

The deputy states that the parliamentarians of the formation signed “the motion to allow for the quick clarification of the political situation. Romania cannot afford a prolonged deadlock. But our vote must reflect the public interest, not behind-the-scenes political calculations.”

Even AUR does not escape the criticism of PU representatives.

“Surprisingly, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians chose to support this initiative, without, in turn, offering a real alternative. Through this positioning, the AUR is only facilitating a political game by the PSD, contributing to a change of facade that leaves the system intact. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has been criticized, including by us, for rigidity, for the lack of empathy in the application of tough measures and for questionable priorities. But dishonesty is not a accusation that has been brought against him. Therefore, when the PSD asks for support for the removal of an inconvenient man, without changing anything from the mechanisms that produced the current crisis, we have serious reasons to refuse this approach.”

The 6 are joined by the two MPs who resigned from the PSD: Victoria Stoiciu and Emanoil Neagu.
