“Rosaviatsiya is canceling the operator certificate of Angara Airlines for commercial air transportation. Starting from November 5, this carrier will not be able to operate commercial flights. The decision was made in order to ensure flight safety,” the statement says.
The Federal Air Transport Agency noted that Angara has An-24 and An-26 aircraft in its fleet, but now other carriers will transport passengers on 11 routes that the company served (including Khabarovsk, Chita, Ulan-Ude and Okhotsk).
The Moscow Times notes that Angara is the largest airline in eastern Siberia.
Rostransnadzor began checking her after the plane crash on July 24, when her An-24 plane, flying from Khabarovsk, crashed while landing in Tynda, killing all 48 people on board.
The audit showed that Angara has massive violations that relate to both flight operations and maintenance, as well as crew training. In particular, inspectors found that the carrier’s aircraft were flying with malfunctions, and airworthiness directives were not followed, the media writes.
