New Year is a time of miracles and magic, but sometimes the holiday brings unexpected surprises. Imagine the situation: the guests have already gathered at the festive table, the champagne is flowing like a river, and then suddenly someone accidentally spills the sauce or drops a piece of fatty food right on their favorite carpet. What to do?
The faster you react, the greater the chance of saving your carpet product:
1. Take a clean paper napkin or towel and gently blot the stain, moving from the edges to the center.
- It is important not to rub the fat, otherwise it will spread even more.
2. If you don’t have napkins on hand, sprinkle salt, baking soda, starch or cornflour onto the stain.
- These substances will help absorb fat and prevent it from further penetrating deep into the tissue.
3. Prepare a solution of 1 teaspoon of 9% table vinegar and 1 liter of water. Apply this solution to the stain using a cotton pad or spray bottle. Then dry the carpet thoroughly. The vinegar smell will disappear once it dries completely.
This method is suitable for most types of carpets, including synthetic, silk, rayon and wool. But be careful: apple cider vinegar, wine vinegar, or balsamic vinegar may leave colored marks.
