The Krasnoyarsk Road Department talked about how public spaces in the city are cleaned during the holidays.
Every day during the New Year holidays, more than 30 pieces of equipment and over 90 employees go out to fight the snow. In winter, cleaning public areas involves two key types of work: mechanized and manual cleaning.
When the snow falls especially heavily, specialists first clear the central paths. Various teams are involved in the cleaning: foremen, green workers, drivers. Mechanized cleaning is carried out using snow loaders, dump trucks and tractors with brushes.
While special machines clean the paths, manual teams are actively cleaning children's playgrounds and sports complexes, monuments and art objects.
The fight against ice is one of the priority tasks in winter. After manual snow removal, walkways, playgrounds and other slippery areas are sprinkled with sand to ensure the safety of passersby.
