Taylor Fritz (27 years old, world number 4), Ben Shelton (23 years old, ATP number 7) and Alex de Minaur (26 years old, world number 6) secured their presence at the ATP Finals in Turin (November 9 – 16), following the results of the Paris Masters 1000.
American Ben Shelton punched his ticket to the ATP Finals in Turin after advancing to the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters 1000 7-6 (6), 6-3 against Andrey Rublev (28 years old, 17th place ATP).
For Shelton, it will be his first appearance at the Tournament of Champions at the end of a busy season, his best to date. Highlights include his second career major semi-final at the Australian Open and his first Masters 1000 title in Toronto.
However, they are not the only important results of the American. He reached the final from MunichATP 250 tournament, lost to Alexander Zverev, semi-finals on grass at Stuttgartalso ATP 250, and on the hard from WashingtonATP 500, quarterfinals at Wimbledon and in the Masters 1000 tournaments from Indian Wells and Cincinnatiround of 16 at Roland Garros.
All in all, a solid course, marred by injury in the final part, but Ben regained his form in time, even in the Paris competition.
His countryman Taylor Fritzdefeated in the “eighties” in Paris by Alexander Bublikhad confirmed his return to the ATP Finals on Wednesday night. Thus, there will be two Americans in the tournament's best 8 players of the season for the first time since 2006. Ben Shelton: 'I'll have to die on the field before I surrender'
In June, Shelton ticked off another notable achievement: he climbed into the Top 10 for the first time in his career, becoming the fourth American lefty to do so after Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe and Roscoe Tanner.
“I knew a win today would qualify me, but I tried not to think about it, to keep my mind here in Paris” Ben said after his win over Andrey Rublev. “It was the most important thing, it was right in front of me“, he added.
“In the end, I knew that if I wanted to be in control of my destiny, I had to win, so I entered the field telling myself that I would have to die on the field before I surrendered. I'm happy with my development and the fact that I was able to deliver my best tennis in the last few months, I'm excited to be in the quarter-finals here“, the American also said.

Alex de Minaur, the second presence in Turin
Shortly after the American Alex de Minaur in turn marked his participation in the ATP Finals, for the second year in a row. He did so by qualifying for the 'quarters' thanks to his emphatic 6-2, 6-2 win over the Russian Karen Khachanov (29 years old, 14th place ATP).
For the Australian, the 2025 season brought the third ATP 500 title of his career, at Washingtonwith a dramatic final against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. He also contested the final at Rotterdam (also ATP 500), semi-finals in the Masters 1000 from Monte Carlothen to Beijing and Vienna.

Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, Novak Djokovic, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur are qualified for the ATP Finals, while for the last place the battle is between Lorenzo Musettisurprisingly eliminated in Paris in the “eighties”, and Felix Auger-Aliassimewho advanced to the “quarters”.
