Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “there is nothing until I approve it,” said US President Donald Trump in a statement published on Friday for Politico. Talks between the two leaders on ending the war in Ukraine are scheduled to take place on Sunday in Florida.

– There's nothing until I approve it. So we'll see what he has, said the American before the expected meeting with Zelensky on Sunday in Florida.
– I think everything will go well with (Russian leader Vladimir) Putin, Trump added, noting that he expected to talk to him soon.
Earlier on Friday, the Ukrainian president confirmed that he planned to meet with Trump this Sunday. The talks are to concern the draft peace agreement, security guarantees and the possibility of putting pressure on Moscow.
The issue of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant and control of Donbas in eastern Ukraine is also to be discussed during the meeting.
In Zelensky's statements published on Friday for the Axios website, the politician said that he was ready to submit the peace plan negotiated with the help of US President Donald Trump to a referendum if Russia agreed to a 60-day ceasefire.
On Wednesday, the President of Ukraine presented a new, 20-point peace plan proposal developed by the US, which is the result of consultations with the parties to the conflict. It provides for, among others: reaffirming Ukraine's sovereign status, freezing the conflict on current lines of contact, a solid development package for Ukraine, efforts to rebuild the country, accelerating the process of concluding a free trade agreement between Ukraine and the US, and elections in the country as soon as possible after the end of the war.
Trump told Politico that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also scheduled to arrive in Florida this weekend. Last week, NBC News reported that the head of the Israeli government was to inform the American president about the growing threat from Iran.
Commenting on Thursday's US airstrikes on jihadist camps in Nigeria in retaliation for the killing of Christians, the US president said that “all camps were destroyed.” He added that the strikes were initially scheduled to take place on Wednesday, but Trump ordered a delay of one day.
– They wanted to do it earlier. And I said, 'No, let's give them a Christmas present,'” the US president said. (PAP)
