The UK ranks first in Europe for the number of illegal migrants — The Daily Telegraph
According to Oxford University experts, whose research the newspaper refers to, there are up to 745 thousand illegal immigrants in the country. This is almost two and a half times higher than in France, where there are about 300 thousand illegally arrived migrants.
The record can be challenged by Germany, where there are about 700 thousand illegal migrants.
The problem of illegal immigration has worsened in the UK after the country left the European Union. Since 2018, about 130 thousand illegal immigrants have crossed the English Channel into the kingdom, 26.6 thousand of them since the beginning of this year.
