Serving the Shuba salad this way will definitely amaze your guests. Be sure to try this recipe

The editors of the Ukrainian culinary website Shuba shared a recipe for “Shuba” salad in the form of a roll.

“The classic salad “Shuba” can be presented to guests at the holiday table in absolutely different ways, not just in a salad bowl in layers. There are many options. One of these is herring under a fur coat in the form of a roll,” says the website.

Ingredients:

  • one herring fillet;
  • two beets;
  • two carrots;
  • one onion;
  • two potatoes;
  • one apple;
  • 1 tbsp. l. vinegar 9%;
  • 200 g mayonnaise;
  • salt to taste.

Preparation

  1. Boil all vegetables, cool and peel. Grate into separate plates on a coarse grater.
  2. Peel the herring from films, seeds, and peels so that you are left with a clean fillet.
  3. Finely chop the onion and add vinegar.
  4. Place cling film on the work surface and begin layering the roll. The first layer is beets. Lay it out in a rectangle, brush with mayonnaise and add a little salt.
  5. The next layer is carrots. Lay out and also grease with mayonnaise.
  6. Next, grate and place a layer of apple and again grease everything with mayonnaise.
  7. Next comes a layer of potatoes. Lay out, add a little salt and brush with mayonnaise. And place pickled onions on top. Lubricate it with mayonnaise too.
  8. The herring fillet is the last layer. Finely chop it and place it on top of the potatoes and onions.
  9. Carefully roll everything into a roll and put it in the refrigerator to harden for an hour or two. Then remove and carefully place on a plate.
