Cypriot journalists were surprised to learn that Elias Charalambous is the highest paid technician born on the island in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Charalambous came to FCSB in 2023, having a salary of 5,000 euros, but thanks to the performances recorded with the team financed by Gigi Becali, the Cypriot's income also increased, according to GOLAZO.ro.
Currently, the coach of the overall champion earns 500,000 euros annually, an amount 8 times higher than when he started at the team.
The Cypriot press claims that he is the highest paid technician in his native country.
“An unimaginable amount. Charalambous is certainly the best paid Cypriot coach, and that by a huge distance!”, wrote the journalists from Cyprus Times, according to sport.ro.
Charalambous is the first Cypriot coach to qualify for the European spring.
