NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said on Friday that he had discussed the issue of sending long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine with US President Donald Trump during his visit to Washington this week and that the issue was “still under review”, reports Reuters.
“Especially the Tomahawk missiles, of course, the president (Trump) and I discussed this topic. The issue remains in the president's analysis and, I repeat, the decision belongs to the United States,” said Mark Rutte.
He added that each allied country decides what weapons it supplies to Ukraine and that the United States has provided and will continue to provide a wide range of weapons.
The head of NATO traveled to London on Friday to meet with leaders of the “Coalition of the Will”, a group of nearly 30 countries that have pledged to support Ukraine in its war against Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is also attending this meeting, hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
