A graduate of medicine and philosophy in Cluj, settled over two decades ago in the United States, where he obtained his doctorate and became a professor of political philosophy at the University of Houston. After the 1989 Revolution, he was the editor-in-chief of the magazine, the northwest day and the newspaper of Cluj. He has published over the editorial years and opinion articles in Dilemma, daily and contributors.ro. ”, Announces the dilemma.

Fumurescu's work “Compromise. A political and philosophical history”, also translated into Romanian, was nominated among the 25 best academic titles published in the United States in 2013.

Alin Fumurescu was married, the father of three children and, recently, became a grandfather.
