In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, forest firefighters received a new batch of equipment

Specialists from the Forest Fire Center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory will use an all-terrain vehicle and a mini-excavator to fight the fire. Special equipment was purchased using federal funds.

Thanks to the massive wheels, the all-terrain vehicle will be able to drive over almost any terrain, overcoming steep climbs, descents and even water obstacles. This means that the maneuverability and efficiency of forest firefighters will increase. To localize fires in hard-to-reach areas and create support firebreaks, we purchased a mini-excavator. They plan to deliver it to the fires by helicopter.

In addition, the UAV fleet of the regional Forest Fire Center was expanded by twenty units. UAVs are used to detect forest fires and reconnaissance of the situation in forests. The new quadcopters are maneuverable, lightweight, with built-in thermal imagers, which will allow you to monitor the situation at the edge of the fire for hidden sources of combustion and quickly take the necessary measures to eliminate them. To work with them, forest fire department employees will undergo special training.

“The systematic expansion of the fleet of forest fire departments and an increase in the number of unmanned aerial vehicles will make it possible to increase the effectiveness of fire fighting in the forests of the region. Now we have 47 devices, and we are also expecting another batch to arrive under the national project “Unmanned Aircraft Systems,” said Vitaly Prostakishin, director of the regional Forest Fire Center.

Now the situation in the forests of the region is controlled with the help of aviation and ground forces, satellites and a video monitoring system. Next year, 11 more devices will be installed on cell towers to monitor forest fire situations. The online monitoring network will be expanded to 181 video cameras.
