Vance, in an interview with the UnHerd portal, said that he considers the last round of indirect negotiations on the “peace plan” in Florida (USA) on December 21 with the participation of Kyiv, Washington, Moscow, as well as representatives of Europe, “breakthrough”. The breakthrough lies in the fact that the contradictions of the parties, which were previously implied, are stated openly.
“What we have seen from Ukrainians and Russians over the past couple of weeks is a real understanding of what is unacceptable and what is completely negotiable,” the American vice president emphasized.
At the same time, he considers the Russian Federation’s demand to give up unconquered territories “a significant obstacle in the negotiations.”
“To be honest, I don’t really have any information about what is meant. But it’s hardly possible to resolve such a complex problem in public. But, on the other hand, we’ll probably get some clarification over time,” Peskov responded to Vance’s words.
