Gică Hagi gave up the role of technical manager at Farul Constanța at the end of the previous season and appointed Ianis Zicu as head coach. An official confirmed that “The King” remained involved in the life of the club.
Tiberiu Curt, vice president at Farul, told Digisport.ro that Gică Hagi “clearly communicated that he will take a step towards the administrative side of the club”.
“He's still dealing directly with the administration of the club and the juniors. Going forward, it's up to him what he does in the future. He's been very active. I can't speak for him about what he's going to be,” he added.
In October, Farul Constanța sent a statement in which it asked the media not to call Ianis Zicu “principal” anymore, since the position belongs, in documents, to Cristian Sava, even though Zicu had been presented as principal in the summer on the club's website.
Golazo.ro wrote that the technician and the club were sued by the Federal Coaching School a few months ago. The Disciplinary Commission established a fine of 15,000 lei for Ianis Zicu, respectively 20,000 lei for Farul, according to frf.ro.
