A woman unwittingly put her cat in the washing machine and then left to clean. After a few hours he saw his tail through the window. “It was Christmas Eve and I was busy with the final preparations”

The incident took place in the Italian town of Induno Olona (Varese): the owner realized that the animal was in the drum after seeing its tail through the window of the washing machine, which was in operation. A veterinarian rushed to the scene: “I prescribed him a treatment with antibiotics and cortisone.”

Christmas Eve preparations are in full swing, the house needs to be cleaned and the washing machine needs one last wash before dinner. But Anacleto the cat had disappeared. The owner of the cat realized that the animal was in the washing machine after seeing its tail, writes the newspaper Corriere della Sera.

He immediately stopped the wash cycle, which luckily was on low, took the cat out and called the vet to give him first aid.

The cat's owner explained: “It was Christmas Eve and I was busy with the final preparations, as usual. Finally, I decided to do laundry. In the evening, I looked for my beloved kitten to give him a few drops. He was nowhere to be found. Suddenly I realized and opened the washing machine door and saw his tail.”

The animal was still alive.

The cat was exhausted, confused and suffering from severe hypothermia after prolonged contact with cold water. So they immediately put some plastic bottles filled with hot water next to her and gave her medicine.

Anacleto started eating again on the morning of December 26, the animal's owner explained. On December 27, the cat was beginning to recover.
