The MTS digital ecosystem summed up the results of connecting and using machine-to-machine (M2M) technology in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for 2025. The largest number of SIM cards for smart devices are installed in the field of transport and logistics. Retail is in second place, and energy and housing and communal services are in third.

In the transport and logistics sector, such devices are used to manage vehicle fleets, track cargo, control speed, fuel consumption and monitor the technical condition of vehicles. In retail, the technology is also used to operate security systems with motion, leakage and smoke sensors.

In the housing and communal services sector, smart devices automatically transmit meter readings in residential buildings and businesses. They also help make utility bills transparent and reduce general household expenses.

“Krasnoyarsk business is increasingly transferring some of its routine processes to smart technologies in order to free up employees’ time to solve more global and complex problems,” said Sergey Yegoshin, director of MTS in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

M2M technology is also actively used in heavy industry, the banking sector, construction and government administration. With its help, payment terminals, ATMs, vending machines operate, and construction companies coordinate the operation of their equipment.
