What will the weather be like on Christmas and New Year's Eve? ANM announces unusual holiday temperatures

Temperatures will be higher than usual for the period in the calendar between December 15 and 29, and then the weather will cool significantly, according to the forecast issued by ANM for the period December 15, 2025 – January 12, 2026.
For the week of December 15 – 22, ANM announces that temperatures will be higher than usual for this week throughout Romania, but with a positive thermal deviation more pronounced in the mountainous areas.
“The estimated rainfall regime for this interval will be deficient at the level of the entire country.” In other words, there will be little or no rain or precipitation.
Likewise, for the week of December 22-29, average temperatures will be higher than normal for
this period, in all regions.
Precipitation amounts will be locally excessive in the southern regions, but also deficient in the northwestern ones, and will otherwise be close to normal.
Afterwards, the weather will cool down suddenly. In the week of December 29, 2025 – January 5, 2026, the average air temperature will have values slightly lower than normal for this interval, at the level of the entire country.
The rainfall regime will be deficient in the northwestern regions, and in the rest it will be generally close to normal.
The week of January 5 – 12, 2026 brings average temperatures close to those specific for this week, throughout Romania. Precipitation amounts will tend to be slightly deficient in the west and northwest of the country, and will otherwise be close to normal for this interval.
