The most important obstacles faced by potential buyers of electric cars are: above all, high price, insufficient range and long charging time.
Despite this, interest in these vehicles is constantly growing – in 2025, the number of registrations of new electric cars increased by as much as 140%, and their share in new registrations exceeded 10% in November.

Specialists point out that further market development depends on the expansion of charging infrastructure and the simplification of procedures related to the installation of home charging points.
What discourages Poles from electricians? They gave two main reasons
According to the results of the New Mobility Barometer quoted by RMF FM, as much as 33.3 percent respondents indicated high price as the main obstacle when choosing an electric car.
A similar percentage of respondents – 33.6 percent. – he decided that too small vehicle range is a problem for themwhile 31.8 percent respondents noticed that the charging time was too long. For 27.3 percent people, an important barrier is the inability to charge the car at home, and 16.1 percent is afraid of the loss of value of the vehicle upon subsequent resale.

The study also showed that 43.4 percent people buying new cars are ready to choose a lesser-known brandif it offers better technological solutions. Moreover, 68.3 percent respondents expect vehicles to be equipped with a wireless software update function.
As RMF FM explains, In 2025, interest in purchasing electric cars increased by 3 percentage points – from 24 to 27 percent. The number of first registrations of new electric vehicles from January to November increased by 140%.
Experts emphasize that the NaszEauto subsidy program had a significant impact on this increase. The Polish New Mobility Association estimates that by the end of the year the number of registered new electric passenger cars will exceed 40,000.
