The prototype of a road tanker for transporting fuel was created in the Orlen Transport workshop in Płock in 2013-2014, and independent serial production started in 2015. Now the company has announced that in November it produced a “tanker marked with the number two hundred”.
“The assembly of tank cars in the company's workshop allows you to obtain a vehicle cheaper than an equivalent vehicle of a similar quality level on the market, and also enables full use of the company's service resources,” Orlen Transport emphasized. He noted that the company relies primarily on tankers of its own production for the transport of various types of fuels by truck sets.
“The elements for the production of the tanker are imported from domestic and German manufacturers. A raw tank is delivered from Germany, made of high-strength aluminum alloys. Then, welding works are carried out, related to the production of pipelines and the installation of supporting elements. The next step is to paint the tanker,” explained Marcin Nowakowski, director of the technical department at Orlen Transport.
– The first tanker we produced has already traveled nearly 2.5 million kilometers and, apart from the necessary replacement parts, it works flawlessly – added Michał Sójka, president of Orlen Transport.
