Boguchanskaya HPP produced 195 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity

9 December 14:55
In the first days of December 2025, the Boguchanskaya HPP produced the 195 billionth kilowatt-hour of electricity since its start-up. The station began operation in October 2012 and reached its design capacity after filling the reservoir to the design level in the summer of 2015. Milestone 185 billion kW.h was passed in mid-May, and 190 billion in August 2025. The most productive year during the operation of the Boguchanskaya HPP was 2024, when consumers received more than 20 billion 368 million kW.h clean electricity.
Yenisei Basin Water Management (EnBVU) for the period from December 6 to December 31, 2025 established an operating mode for the Boguchanskaya HPP in the flow range of 2900-3300 cubic meters per second. Until December 5, the regime of 2900-3200 cubic meters per second was in effect; actual expenditures in November amounted to slightly more than 2990 cubic meters. In this mode, the station produced 1 billion 365 million kW in a month.h, total generation since the beginning of the year exceeded 15 billion 801.5 million kW.h.
In November, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation issued a passport of readiness for the Boguchanskaya HPP for the upcoming heating season of 2025-2026. The document, developed on the basis of monitoring the condition of the equipment and compliance by the plant personnel with the requirements of Russian legislation on industrial safety, confirmed readiness for work in the upcoming critical period.
Despite the decrease in lateral inflow and the ongoing process of formation of ice cover, in November the level of the Boguchansky reservoir rose from 207.6 to 207.7 m (above the level of the Baltic Sea). The increase in level is due to an increase in the volume of the reservoir by 0.23 cubic kilometers after the completion of navigation on the Angara River. Data on hydro resources are comparable with the indicators for the same period in 2024, their volume is sufficient for the uninterrupted production and supply of electricity to consumers.
The first three units of the Boguchanskaya HPP with station numbers 1, 2 and 3 were put into commercial operation on November 23, 2012; the station began operating in commercial operation mode on the wholesale electricity and capacity market on December 1, 2012. The construction of the station was fully completed on December 20, 2017, after the commissioning of the bridge along the dam crest and the signing of the official act.
