Major attack of Ukrainian secret services on Russian strategic aviation. Dozens of bombers, destroyed

On June 1, at noon, several air bases in the Russian Federation were the target of a major operation carried out by the Ukraine Security Service (SBU). According to the information provided exclusively by sources inside the structure, at least 40 Russian strategic bombers would have been damaged or destroyed, following a wave of drone attacks executed in the depth of the Russian territory.

The attacks mainly targeted the military aerodromes where the aircraft involved in the night bombing campaign on Ukrainian cities are stationed. Among the affected ones would be the basis of “Belaia”, located in Siberia, where there is part of the Strategic Bombardiers TU-95MS and TU-22M3.

The operation “Spider” – a new type of war in depth

According to the sources consulted by Pravda.ua, the action bears the code name “spider” and would represent a paradigm change in the way Ukraine addresses the aerial defense: not only by intercepting the rockets, but by attacking the source – destroying the airplanes before taking off.

On one of the footage provided by SBU, the general-lieutenant's voice Vasîl Maliuk, the head of the service, is heard, commenting with satisfaction: “This is now the Belaia aerodrome. The enemy strategic aviation-in flames.”

The operation is considered unprecedented in extent and complexity. According to preliminary estimates, the damages suffered by the Russian army would amount to over $ 2 billion, given the price and equipment of damaged aircraft.

Targeting the bombing fleet – a discouragement strategy

The Bombardiere fleet of the Russian Federation-especially the TU-95 and TU-22 models-has been constantly involved in launching cruise missiles on the Ukrainian civil and energy infrastructure. The planes usually take off from the depth of the Russian territory, thus remaining beyond the range of Ukrainian missiles.

The new SBU tactic, which uses long -range drones launched from within the Ukrainian territory, seems meant to break this apparent invulnerability, transferring the war directly to the aggressor.

So far, the Russian Defense Ministry has not officially commented on the information, and the Russian state press has avoided referring to the incidents of the last hours. However, on Telegram channels close to the security structures have already appeared images of fires and explosions near the “Belaia” aerodrome, confirming, indirectly, the attacks.

The “Spider” operation comes just a few days after the Russian railway infrastructure was targeted by a series of explosions in the Briansk and Kursk regions, in another signal that Ukraine progressively transfers the conflict lines to Donbas to the heart of the Russian territory.

In this context, SBU seems to have gone from sabotage operations located to large strategic blows, meant not to destroy equipment, but also to undermine the morale and the projection capacity of the Russian army.
