Rosprirodnadzor confirmed the accuracy of the data from the environmental monitoring system of the SGC at Krasnoyarsk CHPPs

The correct operation of the automated emissions monitoring system of the enterprises of the Siberian Generating Company and the reliability of the data received were confirmed by Rosprirodnazdor specialists.
Representatives of the department inspected the functioning of equipment at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 and CHPP-2.
The emissions monitoring system is an important component of the federal project “Clean Air” of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”; it records a reduction in the burden on the environment as a result of the implementation of environmental modernization measures.
Special automatic emission control system (AEC) sensors are installed on station pipes at an altitude of 80 to 100 meters. In real time, they measure the concentrations of five marker substances for production: nitrogen oxide and dioxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, particulate matter (dust), as well as pressure, flow, humidity and oxygen content in the exhaust gases.
During the visit to energy enterprises, Rosprirodnadzor specialists checked the proper operation of the equipment, the correctness of measurements and the accuracy of data transmission. Currently, everyone has the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the information on the SGC website, where monitoring data is broadcast online. After the installation of information channels is completed, the measurements will be displayed on the website of the federal department.
SGK, being one of the main participants in the project since 2018, has carried out a large range of environmental measures. Thus, at the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1, a chimney with a height of 275 meters was erected, which replaced three old and lower pipes from 105 to 120 meters. Two boiler units have also been replaced, and two turbines are being installed. 11 out of 15 electrostatic precipitators are already operating with a dust collection efficiency of more than 99%.
By the end of this year, two more gas treatment plants will be commissioned. Once all environmental equipment is operational, the station's particulate matter emissions will be reduced by 80% and total emissions by 20%. SGK's investments in the project amounted to 22 billion rubles.
“The company systematically fulfills its obligations to reduce the burden on the environment. The modernization of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 is one example of such work. The environmental project includes the installation of modern equipment, as well as the introduction of digital control systems that guarantee the objectivity of the data and allow us to constantly improve production processes,” emphasized Dmitry Starodubtsev, head of the environmental protection department of the Yenisei TGC (a division of the SGC in the Krasnoyarsk Territory).
As part of Clean Air, SGC is also implementing other environmental projects. In Krasnoyarsk, the company is converting private houses to electric heating. Eco-installations have already been installed and are being used by the owners of 630 households. In addition, a lot of work has been completed to replace non-ecological boiler houses: 37 inefficient heat sources have already been taken out of service. Now consumers receive heat and hot water from thermal power plants equipped with modern electrostatic precipitators.
A landmark project of SGK in 2025 is the completion of large-scale construction of the second power unit at the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 under the capacity supply agreement (CSA-2). It is important that the new power unit is installed in conjunction with a modern electrostatic precipitator. In addition, to reduce the load on the Yenisei, a unique cooling tower with a height of 88 meters was built at the station. Also, for the first time, a dry slag and ash removal system is provided, which will allow waste to be stored more compactly without expanding storage space.
