Europe will receive its own missile shield system, of which Ukraine will become a part. Denis Shtilerman, co-owner and chief designer of the Ukrainian defense technology company Fire Point, spoke about this in an interview with the editor-in-chief of the GORDON publication Alesya Batsman.
We are talking about the Freya project to build a pan-European missile defense system, which is being worked on by Fire Point.
According to Shtilerman, this system will be several times cheaper than the American ones.
“Even if we count at American prices, intercepting ballistics costs about $6 million at a minimum. Our target goal is to reduce it to less than $1 million. Try. We want to produce missiles very cheaply, up to $500 thousand, and intercept them with them,” he said.
The launcher, according to Shtilerman's forecasts, will cost approximately $150 thousand.
