Rubio explained why it is “illogical” for the Russian Federation to continue the war in Ukraine

“This is a war that, logically, should end because no one is really winning it in the traditional sense. 7 thousand Russian troops are dying every week … There is a battle for space of 30-50 km and 20% of the region that remains,” said the head of American diplomacy.

He recalled that during almost four years of a full-scale invasion, the defense forces managed to reduce the territory occupied by the occupiers.

“People forget that at one point in the war the Russians controlled a lot more territory in Ukraine than they do now. If you look at what this map looked like in March, April, May, three months after the invasion, and what it looks like now, the Ukrainians pushed the Russians way back from where they were, so they had already made huge strides because of their bravery, their courage and how hard they fought. But there is the reality that this has now become a war of attrition.” and, unfortunately, the Russians have shown their willingness to sacrifice 7,000 soldiers a week,” Rubio explained in an interview.
