Operator T2 provided with modern communications two more villages in the Far North

T2, the Russian mobile communications operator, provided contact in the village of Tutonchany of the Evenki district and the village of Katyryk Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets district. Less than 500 people live in each settlement. Now they are available for stable voice communication and mobile Internet in the 4G standard.

The village of Tutonchany with a population of 200 people is located in the middle of the taiga on the banks of the Nizhnyaya Tunguska River. To the nearest settlement – the village of Tura – 300 kilometers in a straight line, but you can get to it only by water or by air. Thanks to the appearance of the T2 network in the village, a stable voice communications and 4G Internet became available for the first time. Residents can now call, look for information on the Internet, communicate on social networks and instant messengers, use public services.

The village of Katyryk, in which 300 people live, is located north of Norilsk, in the forest -tundra zone. Refers to the rural settlement of Hatang, despite the fact that the distance between settlements is 180 kilometers. In the cold season, a winter road is laid to Katyryk, and in the summer the village can only be reached by helicopter or boat. T2 was the first of the operators to ensure the stable coating of Voice and the Internet. Speed ​​4G allows residents to use all the necessary online services.

“The main limiter in the work to ensure communication in the Far North is the absence of fiber-optic lines. In a number of settlements, a satellite canal has to be used. That is exactly what we did in the villages of Katyryk and Tutonchany. Now there you can call and use the Internet. I am sure that residents will evaluate the opportunity to stay in touch 24/7, and we will continue to expand the network in the northern regions in all available ways, ”said Yuri Kamalov, director of the T2 branch in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

T2 pays increased attention to the northern territories. In 2024, the operator installed 20 additional sets of equipment in Norilsk, Yeniseisk, Lesosibirsk, as well as in Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets, Turukhansky, Boguchansky, Yenisei, Kezhemsky and Motyginsky districts.
