The price of diesel fell almost 9.5 lei/l on Friday, at Petrom stations, after reaching a maximum of 10.38 lei/l, and that of gasoline was reduced to 8.72 lei/l, 60 bani below the month's maximum of 9.35 bani/l, writes News.ro, citing the Profit website.
Following Friday's price reductions, the price of diesel (9.58 lei/l in Petrom stations) dropped to a level that has not been recorded since March 20, and that of gasoline (8.72 lei/l) reached the price quoted in stations by the market leader on March 18.
Fuel prices have also dropped by the same amount in OMV premium stations, where one liter of diesel costs 9.67 lei, and one liter of gasoline costs 8.83 lei.
Rompetrol increased the price of diesel
Rompetrol reduced the price of diesel by 6 bani and increased the price of gasoline by 17 bani after the day before, on Thursday, it had cheapened diesel by 20 bani and gasoline by 26 bani, according to Profit.ro.
Following Friday's price movements, a liter of standard gasoline costs 9.11 lei at Rompetrol stations, and one liter of standard diesel costs 10.2 lei. International crude oil prices closed Thursday's trading session up 1%, but settled below $100 for the second consecutive session on Thursday amid volatile trading influenced by the fragile Middle East ceasefire.
