The national men's handball team will participate in the European Championship organized in Denmark, Norway and Sweden in January 2026. The European Handball Federation (EHF) has announced the preliminary groups of all national teams, including that of Romania.
During the period January 15 – February 1, 2026the European Men's Handball Championship will be held, Romania being present at this final tournament. The tricolors were assigned to group B, along with Denmark, Portugal and North Macedonia.
The matches in this group will take place in the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning, Denmark, and George Buricea's men have an almost “impossible” task, dueling with the hosts, who are world champions, and Portugal, placed 4th in the World Championship earlier this year.
The EHF announced the extended squads of all the national teams and here are the 35 players included by the Romanian national team.
