“Employees of the Krasnoyarsk traffic police regiment promptly began searching for the culprit of the accident and soon established his identity. He turned out to be a 55-year-old local resident, who explained that he was afraid of responsibility. “In relation to the violator, material was collected under Part 2 of Article 12.27 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which provides for deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of one to one and a half years, or administrative arrest for up to 15 days,” the traffic police said.

It is noted that since the beginning of the year in Krasnoyarsk, more than 650 drivers have already been prosecuted for leaving the scene of an accident.
