The SENS candidate for the Capital City Hall, Ana Ciceală, credited with 8.4% of the votes in the AtlasIntel survey published on Monday by HotNews, says that if “PNL and USR really cared about Bucharest” they would have reached an agreement for a common candidate in the December 7 elections. Ciceăla also says that Anca Alexandrescu, candidate supported by AUR, “has more years in PSD than Daniel Băluță”.

Contacted by HotNews on Tuesday, Ciceală said that she does not want to discuss the results of some polls, because “it has been seen that they have failed systematically lately”, but that she knows what it feels like when she goes out on the street to talk to people.

“There is a lot of enthusiasm in the street for our candidacy, for our projects on housing, health, education, public transport, what public consultation by the mayor means, so we see things differently, precisely because in the street people tell us that they want to vote with us, that they are happy to have someone to represent them”, said the SENS candidate, when asked how she sees the score of 8.4%.

What Ana Ciceală says about a possible retirement, on the model of Vlad Gheorghe

About the withdrawal of the candidate Vlad Gheorghe from the race for Bucharest in favor of the liberal Ciprian Ciucu, Ana Ciceală said that “everyone evaluates their chances and has a specific strategy”.

Asked if there is any chance that she will withdraw in favor of Ciprian Ciucu, Ana Ciceală said that “people's votes are not pledged, they are not bags of votes that some politicians can pass from one candidate to another, we have to look at who is the best person to lead the capital of the country”.

“If the PNL and the USR really cared about Bucharest, they would not allow not to have a common candidate. So, they allowed because each one thought about his own skin, not about the people and the city,” Ciceală also said in the dialogue with HotNews.

“I have no way to validate, through a withdrawal, exactly the old political class”

Ana Ciceală also says that some of her opponents took over her projects “partially or at least declaratively” in the last week of the campaign:

“Related to our political project and our social project for the people, it is very different from everything that has happened so far with the political class, so I have no way to begin to validate, to give credit through a withdrawal to exactly the old political class, which brought us where it brought us, in this extremist danger and which does not wake up to reality.”

Asked if there was at one point a discussion regarding a meeting between her, Cătălin Drula (USR) and Ciprian Ciucu (PNL), about a common strategy, Ana Ciceală said that she did not know of such an initiative.

Ana Ciceală: “Anca Alexandrescu has more years in PSD than Mr. Băluță”

Asked if she would have any regrets in the situation in which the representative of the self-styled sovereignist current, candidate Anca Alexandrescu, supported by AUR, wins the elections for the Capital City Hall, Ciceăla mentioned her ties to the PSD.

“Ms. Anca Alexandrescu has more years in PSD than Mr. Băluță, she supported a bunch of PSD governments, powerful people in PSD and made power plays in this country, she was at the highest level of power in our country for PSD, so I don't understand how it can be promoted that she is anti-system when it is very clear, from my point of view, a very important part of this system,” the SENS candidate also declared.
