SuperLiga: Leo Grozavu, nervous after the victory with Unirea Slobozia: “The fist in the mouth, that's how we are!”

Leo Grozavu, the coach of the FC Botoșani team, criticized the referee Szabolcs Kovacs, who sanctioned six of his players in the match won against Unirea Slobozia, score 1-0, in the 18th stage of the SuperLiga.

The players from FC Botoșani who received “yellows” were: Miron, Dumiter, Ongenda, Diaw, Bordeianu and Petro. The last three will miss the match with Rapid in the next round, being suspended for the accumulation of cards.

“I got six cards, a card was given for every foul. I can't say anything from the bench, I don't understand why. I have respect. The fist in the mouth, shut up, what to do. I keep my mouth shut, because that's how we are.

We played a good game, perfect defensively. This does not mean that they are not a good team, I'm sorry for Slobozia, but that's football. I'm happy for my players.

There were many moments when it seemed like someone had something with us. It is known that a very difficult match is coming up for us, we have four suspended. They had a little more and they were suspending me too. The euphoria after a success should have been greater, but I can't. To receive so many yellow cards, when we are not such an aggressive team.

There are still many stages, we have achieved an important victory. It's good that we did it today, we have some tough games ahead of us. We want to collect points in every game, then we will see how far we will go”, said Leo Grozavu, quoted by digisport.ro.

Asked if Sebastian Mailat, the scorer of the only goal in the match in Clinceni, suffers because he was not called up to the Romanian national team, despite his very good performances, Grozavu said: “It's not my job, I have no way to tell you how Mailat feels. From the outside, I see him as a player who has to score, play for the team and if there is a call-up it will be good for him. If not, he has to do his job further”.

Thanks to this success in stage #18, the tenth of this season, FC Botoșani accumulated 36 points and climbed to the 2nd place in the ranking, the position it had started the stage.
