The students from the national robotics team took the first four places at the “FIRST Tech Challenge” World Championship in Houston, announced Sunday the president Nicușor Dan, who congratulated them for this performance.
The competition was won by the Velocity Robotics Team, from the “Gheorghe Munteanu Murgoci” high school in Brăila, after a final with the Heart of RoBots team from the “BP Hașdeu” National College in Buzău.
Velocity is the third team from Romania to win the World Championship.
The Quantum Robotics teams from the International Informatics High School in Bucharest, respectively AiCitizens from the “Al. I. Cuza” National College in Focșani, were ranked 3rd and 4th.
“Romania is proud of you!”, wrote President Nicușor Dan, on Sunday evening, in a post on Facebook.
The head of state said that he met some of the students from the national robotics team in April, when they were in the training camp at the West University in Timișoara.
“I was impressed by their energy and creativity”, added Nicușor Dan.
