Who does not want ANAF digitization? “From the VAT debts that the Romanian state does not recover, large amounts are generated by few companies”

The Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Radu Miruţă, states that the Digitalization of ANAF is needed for the institution to collect the value added tax from those companies that do not pay their debts to the budget. Miruţă also says that there are a small number of companies that have gathered large debts.
Radu Miruţă was asked on Sunday evening, in a TVR Info show, why does not manage to collect VAT and why Romania is coda regarding the collection to the state budget.
“I can give you a hint, maybe it is relevant. From the VAT debts that the Romanian state does not recover, large amounts are generated by few companies. Of this large amount, there are a few that generate most of the debt. Maybe if there were digitalization, they would come out in the sight of everyone and ask: but why do you leave it again? Not only the money taken from people, a matter and justice. To endure more of the growth that will be done.
“We see what artificial intelligence can do, the idea is that it is not”
The minister is of the opinion that change is needed, showing that, in his opinion, “what needs to be changed is a system with artificial intelligence algorithms within ANAF to look and get out of there, to filter the problems that can be quickly solved, major problems.”
“It is not enough to take these complaints one by one, that you do not get anywhere, consume, send the inspectors in control and gather two lei. (…) The algorithms know how to do this. And I trust the new president of ANAF that from the discussions I had concerned to complete the development of such a software. Analyze all the parameters, there are ways to take into account what you need and say, look, these are the biggest chances of bringing this money during this period.
Asked who does not want to, the minister replied: “The political decision -maker that apologizes with complicated acquisitions, slow decisions, with the change of government, with the interim period, that is, there are some excuses. (…) It is a quick expectation for this to happen when you know that this situation is possible. That is, you do not want to apply it.”
Economy Minister: We must gather 35 billion until the end of this year. It is not an option, it is an obligation
