Teenager Kills Grandmother Under Mother’s Orders in Ukraine

A tragic incident unfolded in Ukraine where a 13-year-old boy was charged with murdering his grandmother under the influence of his mother. Reports indicate that the woman coerced her son into committing the crime to access his grandmother’s savings and pay off her debts. The two had visited the grandmother, and when she turned her back, the boy, following his mother’s signal, used a cord to strangle her.

While the boy was carrying out the act, his mother left the room to search for cash. She managed to collect approximately $3,000 and 13,000 hryvnias. Throughout the assault, she directed her son to tighten the cord and subsequently brought a knife from the kitchen, instructing him to finish the job.

The boy reportedly claimed he acted out of fear of his mother, who allegedly had a history of punishing him physically, including hitting him with a charging cable for disobedience. Given his age and the ongoing psychological and physical pressure from his mother, the court decided to place him under supervision and directed him to a special educational institution for three years.

The mother faces her own legal issues, with separate proceedings initiated against her, as she has been charged with organizing and inciting the premeditated murder for selfish reasons.
