The Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theater hosted the premiere of a children's play based on Grigory Oster's book “A Kitten Named Woof.”

Funds in the amount of more than a million rubles were allocated within the framework of the “Culture of the Small Motherland” project of the United Russia party.

The director of the play, Olga Petukhova, spoke about how the play was created: “The chosen material for me is a return to childhood. We settled on this particular work as the personification of our childhood. In fact, the author, Grigory Oster, first wrote the play for the puppet theater. It was on the basis of this play that we decided to stage the play. One of the features of our production is that we included in the performance each artist’s personal memories of his childhood, and this is such a highlight of the performance. The whole team wishes the young spectators to enjoy their childhood and laugh, laugh and laugh during the performance.”

The honorary guests at the premiere were the children of volunteers invited by the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the United Russia party, who help in volunteer centers to collect humanitarian aid for participants in the Northern Military District and new territories.

Olga Pypina, coordinator of the “We Mask” volunteer movement, brought her daughters Arina and Nastya to the performance: “Thank you for United Russia inviting us. Our children participate in many volunteer activities. For example, there is such a campaign – “Call Sign T-shirt”, we draw pictures on T-shirts for the Northern Military District soldiers under their call signs, we have already sent hundreds of them, and the girls are happy to help us with this.”

Nastya: “I’ve watched the cartoon more than once. I love dogs, and the dog was my favorite.”

Arina: “When I was little, we had such a toy, but we grew out of it. And I like both the dog and the kitten in the cartoon.”

Member of the regional parliament, regional coordinator of the party project “Culture of the Small Motherland” Vera Oskina notes that within the framework of the project, funds for theaters in Krasnoyarsk and the region are allocated on an ongoing basis:

“The party project “Culture of the Small Motherland” continues. The support for our theaters is very serious – funds are allocated not only for creative activities and equipment, but also for repairs. For example, they received significant funds from the federal budget to renovate the Theater for Young Spectators as a family theater. This season they will delight us with the premiere of the play “Dubrovsky”. It makes you think about relationships between people and, in addition, reminds you of Pushkin’s books. Now the “Golden Key” theater in Zheleznogorsk has plans to renovate the “Pilot” cinema, since the premises of the puppet theater are small. In total, about 400 million will be allocated for this project from the federal and regional budgets. The Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theater also continues to delight us. Performances are staged on the theater stage for both adults and children. The premiere for children is “A Kitten Named Woof.” I think that the production will delight young viewers. All the performances that I watched at the puppet theater were wonderful.”

In total, since 2017, under the party project “Culture of the Small Motherland”, the Krasnoyarsk Territory has been allocated a total of 1 billion 300 million rubles from the federal and regional budgets. Over the years, 229 adult performances and 46 performances for children's audiences have been staged.

It should be noted that support for culture is an important direction of the people’s program and the party project “Culture of the Small Motherland.”
