New air attacks by the Russian Federation in Ukraine took place in the night from Sunday to Monday, near the border with Romania. Two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft were lifted from the ground in order to monitor the air situation. No intrusions of unmanned aerial vehicles into the national airspace were registered, MApN announces.

“The Russian Federation resumed drone attacks on civilian targets and port infrastructure in Ukraine, on the night of November 23 to 24, near the border with Romania. The radar monitoring systems detected aerial targets in the direction of Ismail, and two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft of the German allies, from the combat service of the Reinforced Air Police, were lifted from the ground in order to monitor the aerial situation. The drones disappeared from the radar, reporting shortly explosions in Ismail. There were no unmanned aerial vehicle intrusions into Romania's airspace, and the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft returned to Air Base 57 at 01:01, MApN informs on Monday morning.

At 01.45, as a result of the detection of aerial targets 30 kilometers north of Serpilor Island, with possible developments towards Vâlcov, Chilia or Ismail, two F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft of the Romanian Air Force were ordered to take off.

During the mission, F-16 aircraft reported aerial targets at different distances from Ismail, and then explosions were observed on the Ukrainian side. This time too, there were no recorded intrusions of drones into the national airspace, and the F-16 aircraft returned to the 86th Air Base at 03.51.

At 02.20, the authorities sent a RO-Alert message for the north of Tulcea county.

“The message sent to the population was informative and preventive in nature, warning of the possibility of some objects falling from the airspace and urging citizens to adopt protection and shelter measures, if the situation required this. Considering the evolution of the situation and the extension of the air alert phase, a second RO-Alert message was sent, valid until 03:20, to keep the population informed and ensure an appropriate level of protection”, announces the ISU.

Following the transmission of the messages, a single call to the single emergency number 112 was registered at the ISU “DELTA” Tulcea dispatch center, through which a person requested additional information, the same source stated.
