The ceremony took place on Wednesday, during which Kim Jong Un gave a speech in which he praised the 600 mm multiple launch missile system, which he described as “unique in the world”.

The North Korean leader stated that the new weapon is “suitable for a special attack”, a euphemism frequently used by Pyongyang authorities to refer to the use of nuclear weapons.

Kim Jong Un emphasized that the system has a role of “discouragement” and claimed to be invincible.

“If this weapon is used, no one can hope to be protected by God,” said the North Korean leader, according to KCNA, quoted by News.ro.

Officials and military experts had previously estimated, after Kim Jong Un visited the factory where these launchers are made, that they could be used against South Korea, including the capital Seoul, which is less than 50 kilometers from the separation line.

Analysts believe the new weapon aims to boost North Korea's precision strike capabilities and send a message of strength to both the United States and South Korea.

At the same time, the public presentation of the system could precede the necessary tests before a possible export to Russia, in the context of strengthening the partnership between Pyongyang and Moscow against the background of the war in Ukraine.
