New containers for collecting MSW are being installed in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, work continues on the construction of new municipal sites for the collection of solid municipal waste. The mayor's office spoke about this.

In the Central District, nine sites will be installed in the private sector of Pokrovka. Today, November 21, a visiting meeting was held there with the participation of the district administration and the Ministry of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Experts assessed the readiness of the site on the street. Polyarnaya, 105. A concrete base has already been poured on site, a fence with a canopy has been installed and a smooth slope has been equipped for moving tanks. Also today, five new containers were delivered to the site.

“Here, on Polyarnaya Street, there used to be a dilapidated house. Then it was demolished, and a spontaneous landfill began to constantly appear in this area. Residents brought everything here, and then it was carried by the wind throughout Pokrovka. Now that we have been given such beauty, of course it will be much better. The containers are easy to access, and taking out garbage from them is much easier than endlessly cleaning up a landfill,” shared Svetlana Sednevets, a resident of the Central District.

It is planned that work on all other sites will be completed in the near future. ​The creation of new waste collection sites is part of a comprehensive effort to bring order to the private sector. The fight against spontaneous dumps also continues in parallel. Violations are recorded using CCTV cameras. Those who throw out garbage in the wrong places are subject to administrative liability.

“Two key tasks that we need to solve to restore order in the city are the organization of a sufficient number of waste accumulation sites and timely removal. Today we were able to evaluate how the first of these two problems is solved. The containers for the new site were manufactured by the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. I will also note that we will continue to work in this direction next year, and on an even larger scale,” said Vladimir Chasovitin, Minister of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

​Modernization of primary waste management infrastructure in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is being carried out within the framework of the national project “Environmental Well-Being”. This year, 94 sites for the accumulation of solid municipal waste are being developed in the regional center, of which work has already been completed on 40 sites. More than 1,300 containers are being installed. Next year it is planned to triple funding for these purposes.

“Currently, the creation of nine municipal container sites in our area is being completed, and earlier this year we built two more – on the street. Dixon, 42 and st. Stepana Razin, 15. We try to choose addresses taking into account the places where residents, for one reason or another, already bring and deliver waste. For example, after the site appeared on the street. Stepan Razin managed to solve the problem with the landfill, which used to constantly arise here,” said Stanislav Potashkov, acting head of the Central District Administration.

Let us remind you that it became known earlier that in Norilsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, garbage removal from residential buildings will be monitored by surveillance cameras. 35 cameras were installed by the management company Severny Upravdom LLC.
