Nicușor Dan, about the resignation of Dragoș Anastasiu: “The situation was rather a matter of image”

President Nicușor Dan said on Wednesday, in a press conference, that he did not know that the former Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu was involved in a corruption file on the bribery of an ANAF function, between 2009-2017.

Asked if he knew about Anastasiu's file and the fact that for eight years he bribed an employee of ANAF, Nicușor Dan replied: “I did not have this information”.

Regarding the ORNISS certificate that Anastasiu had inmate, the president claimed that: “His reign was an honorary counselor for Mr. Bolojan as he was interim president. During this period he obtained the ORNISS certificate and the ORNIS Certificate continued to work until he resigned, he left the Presidency to the Government”.

Nicușor Dan also claimed that the checks that are done to obtain these ORNIS certificates are vulnerabilities. Such a certificate allows, among other things, access to information with different degrees of confidentiality.

In my opinion, the checks that are made to obtain this certificate are those vulnerabilities that come from different forms of association with people who are not friends with the Romanian state or from certain issues in which the respective persons have criminal accusations. The situation that Mr. Anastasiu had was rather a matter of image from an older matter, from the perspective of the ORNISS I understand“He added.
