Carmen Uscatu, co-president of the “Dăruiește Viață” Association, said on Thursday on Europa FM that the organization is working on “a plan” to discuss with Deputy Prime Minister Oana Gheorghiu, in turn co-founder of the NGO, whom Uscatu accused of incompatibility after she was appointed to the Government.

“Our proposal is for Oana to become honorary president, so she remains a member of the “Dăruiește Viață” Association, but without the right to vote in the General Assembly”, said Carmen Uscatu.

The co-president of the organization explained that “the General Assembly is the supreme and decision-making body of a non-governmental organization”.

“Right now, we are trying to build a plan to discuss with her, a plan that includes a corporate governance code, a code of conduct, a management plan for the next five years, which will take this very important project, this country project, further, to the next level,” added Carmen Uscatu.

Why did he choose to go public?

Carmen Uscatu claims that “before going public” to accuse Oana Gheorghiu of incompatibility as a result of being appointed to the Government, she “had countless discussions” with her “to reach a conclusion”, but “her answers were, also in private, the same as the public one”.

“I would like to convey to all those who are saddened by the situation created that I weighed this gesture of transparency that I made and it started from the fact that “Give Life” has always been an association with a civic involvement, which has always transparently communicated the difficulties it went through – and we are talking about the difficulties we had with the authorities (…), “wars”, and I consider that it was a gesture of maturity to come before the people and tells what “Give Life” is facing at that moment when we all found out that Oana had and has two roles, basically, a role in the Government of Romania and a role in a non-governmental organization”, said Carmen Uscatu.

When asked if sponsors had withdrawn in the meantime, Carmen Uscatu answered: “I managed to keep them so that they do not say that they are withdrawing and I hope that precisely through these steps that we are undertaking now and which we will discuss in the General Assembly, we will be able to convince them to stay with us. We hope that we will also bring donors back and bring new ones”.
