Shmyhal and Syrski met with the US delegation in Kiev

“Ukraine is grateful to the United States for approving the sale of a support package for the PATRIOT air defense system with an estimated value of $105 million. This is critically needed assistance that will allow us to more effectively repel Russian attacks,” Shmyhal emphasized.

The Minister of Defense stated that Ukraine is ready to work with allies on common security solutions, and the role of the United States in this matter is extremely important.

Syrski also held a meeting with the US Minister of Land Forces, during which he informed American partners about the current situation on the battlefield.

“I drew attention to the fact that the enemy is strengthening the grouping of its troops, continuing offensive operations and increasing its intensity, carrying out missile attacks on residential areas, which leads to numerous casualties among the civilian population. We discussed strengthening Ukraine's capabilities in the field of air defense, Deep Strike, unmanned systems, training of personnel of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, etc.” – he wrote.

He noted that strengthening the protection of the Ukrainian sky, increasing the number of long-range strikes against enemy military facilities, maintaining and stabilizing the front line should undermine Russia's offensive capabilities and ultimately force it to a just peace.

“Deep Strike strikes have already proven effective in disrupting Russian logistics and are producing positive results in neutralizing Russia's military potential. Operations against refineries, in turn, are intended to reduce the war to unfavorable prospects for Moscow, making it unprofitable for the enemy,” he explained.

“Another important direction is our cooperation in the sphere of technology. I am convinced that Ukraine's unique combat experience and rapid innovation production cycles will support the development of mutually beneficial Ukrainian-American cooperation in the field of defense,” Syrski said.

The media reported on Wednesday that the US had negotiated a peace plan with Russia, which Washington wants to force Kiev to accept. This plan is to include, among others: handing over the rest of the unoccupied Donbas to Russia, partial disarmament and a radical reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army, and, according to Axios, also recognition of the Russian annexation of Crimea and Donbas by Washington.
