Mihai Tentea and George Iordache force history in the decisive heats of the bobsleigh event at the Olympic Games

The Romanian bobbers Mihai Tentea and George Iordache will compete today in heats number 3 and 4 in the bob-2 event at the Milan Cortina Olympic Games. The first part of the competition will start at 20:00, broadcast on TVR Sport and Eurosport 2, with the results in real time on GSP.ro.

Mihai Tentea and George Iordache did exceptionally well in the two heats on Monday. They set the third fastest time in the second, 54.68 seconds, and they climbed to the border of the medals. They will start today in a remarkable 5th place.

Mihai Tentea and George Iordache, decisive legs at Milano Cortina

The first leg will start at 20:00. There will be 26 crews at the start. They will enter the competition in descending order, in positions from yesterday's times.

In the decisive leg, scheduled from 22:05, 20 crews will remain.

  • Mihai Tenteaaged 27, is in his third Olympic participation, after Pyeongchang 2018 – 18th place in bob-2 with Nicolae Daroczi and Beijing 2022 – 16th place in bob-2 also with Daroczi and 13th place in bob-4.
  • George Iordache (22) is making his Olympic debut.

The first 3 places are occupied by the beans of Germany. Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer lead the provisional hierarchy, followed by Francesco Friedrich/Alexander Schüller and Adam Ammour/Alexander Schaller. In front of the Romanians are the Americans Frankie del Duca and Joshua Williamson.

Even if the chances of medals are very small, the performance of Tentea and Iordache remains a benchmark for Romania.
