Extreme weather on September 24: Corcal in the West, sudden cooling in the northeast

Today, September 24, the weather is divided between summer temperatures and normal autumn values. While in the west of the country there are even 32 degrees, in the northeast there is a marked cooling, with maximums of only 18-19 degrees in Bucovina.

In the south and south-east, the atmosphere is sunny, and in Bărăgan the temperatures go up to 27 degrees. At the seaside, however, the weather remains cooler, with values between 23 and 25 degrees, according to the National Meteorological Agency (ANM).
In southern Moldova and northern Muntenia, the clouds are rare, but the wind reaches speeds of 40-50 km/h. After lunch, around 26 degrees are recorded.
In the north of Moldova and in Bucovina, the sky is innocent and weak rains appear. However, the sun is gazing throughout the day. The temperatures descend from yesterday, with maximums of 19 degrees in Suceava and 26 in Bacău.
In the north of Transylvania and in Maramureș the weather is changing, with possible light rain in the afternoon. The temperatures stop at 27 degrees in Bistrița and Baia Mare.
West and South, still in full summer season
In the west, the clouds gather, but the rains are missing during the day. Only during the night are it possible isolated showers in Crișana and Banat. The temperatures are kept high, with maximums of 32 degrees.
In Transylvania, in the morning it is cool in depressions, with fog, but during the day it warms up. At noon, 24 degrees are reached in Miercurea Ciuc and 29 in Alba Iulia.
Oltenia has a sunny day, with summer values: around 30 degrees after lunch. And in the south of the country, the weather remains beautiful, with serene sky and maximum 29 degrees, according to ANM.
The weather in Bucharest
The capital enjoys today another hot and beautiful day, with clear sky and temperatures up to 29 degrees. The wind intensifies in the evening hours.
From Thursday, however, the weather changes radically: the maximum will not exceed 20 degrees, the sky will be more cloudy, and the rains are expected the next night. On Friday, a cold day is announced, with no more than 19 degrees and stronger wind, and on Saturday the values remain low, around 20 degrees. The minimum Saturday to Sunday will go down to 8 degrees.
How will the weather be at the mountain
In the mountain, today the temperatures begin to drop, especially in the eastern massifs, where weak rains are recorded. In the rest of the mountain areas the weather will be changing, with sunny intervals, but also with fog in valleys and depressions.
On Thursday, cooling is especially accentuated in eastern massifs, where more consistent rains are expected. The wind will blow power in the Banat Mountains.
On Friday, the cold persists: there will be more sun in the east, but otherwise the clouds dominate the sky, with weak rains and strong wind in Banat. On Saturday, it remains cold, with alternations of sun and clouds, rains passing in the southern massifs and wind gusts in the Banat area.
