Born on May 24, 1972, in the village of Risipeni, Falesti district, the head of state is 53 years old and is currently at the second term of president.

Maia Sandu was born on May 24, 1972, in the village of Risipeni, Falesti district. In 1994, he graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, the Faculty of Management. From 1995 to 1998, he studied at the Academy of Public Administration in Chisinau, obtaining the title of Master in international relations, according to Radiochisinau.

In 2010 he obtained the title of Master in public policies, after completing his studies at the Kennedy School of Public Administration of Harvard USA University.
Subsequently, between June 2010-July 2012, he was a counselor of the executive director of the World Bank in Washington.
Maia Sandu was invested as president of the Republic of Moldova on December 24, 2020, after the victory in the second round of the presidential elections. Previously, the head of state held the chair of Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova and the position of Minister of Education.
