The meeting of the assembled plenary session of the Parliament starts at 13:00. On the agenda is the appointment of the members of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Television Society and the appointment of the members of the Board of Directors of the Romanian Broadcasting Society.

Voting is secret with balls.

The new head of AEP will be Adrian Ţuţuianu, who is the only candidate for this position. He resigned from the PSD on Thursday, because the AEP president cannot be a party member.

He was appointed in September 2022 deputy general secretary of the Government, with the rank of secretary of state, according to a decision issued by the prime minister at the time, the liberal Nicolae Ciucă.

Țuțuianu was a senator for two terms: 2008-2012 and 2016-2020, both terms obtained on PSD lists.

Currently, AEP is led on an interim basis by Zsombor Vajda, after former president Toni Greblă was dismissed from office in February of this year. The mandate of the head of AEP is 8 years and must be voted by the Parliament.

Changes to TVR and Public Radio

In the same meeting, the parliamentarians will vote on the appointment of the members of the Boards of Directors of the Romanian Television Society (SRTV) and the Romanian Broadcasting Society (SRR).

Both the Parliamentary Groups and the President of Romania or the Government come up with nominations for representative members in CAs.

Adriana Săftoiu is the PNL proposal for the head of TVR, and the journalist Robert Schwartz is the USR proposal for the leadership of Public Radio. However, the management of TVR and Public Radio will be determined by the members of the Boards of Directors.
