The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) transmitted a travel warning to France on Saturday, regarding possible disturbances of railway traffic in this country, between May 5-11, 2025, when a strike announced by railway unions will take place.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs Romanian citizens who are, transit or intend to travel in France that the railway unions in this country (SNCF) have launched a strike call from Monday, May 5, May 11.

“In this context, disturbances of the railway, urban and interurban circulation (TGV, Ter, Intercity and RER) are provided, from all over the French Republic,” warns the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Passengers are thus advised to consult the SNCF website to verify traffic conditions and anticipate any inconvenience.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informs that Romanian citizens can request consular assistance at the phone numbers of the general consulate in Paris: +33147052966 and +33147052755. Also, Romanian citizens who face a difficult, special situation, with an emergency character, have the following permanent phones, depending on the consular constituency of residence, as follows: the general consulate in Paris: +33680713729; General Consulate of Romania in Marseille: +3610027164; General Consulate of Romania in Lyon: +33643627736; General Consulate of Romania in Strasbourg: +33627050022.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recommends the consultation of the Internet pages: paris.mae.ro, cgparis.mae.ro, lyon.mae.ro, marsilia.mae.ro, strasbourg.mae.ro and www.mae.ro.
