A 46-year-old man, detained after allegedly trying to rape a teenage girl: “He attacked her and put a cutter to her throat”
A 46-year-old man was remanded in custody after he lured a 15-year-old girl to a building in the center of Arad, under the false pretext that she needed help, and then tried to rape her, threatening her with a cutter.

During Friday afternoon, a 15-year-old girl was on her way home when she was approached on Andrei Șaguna street in Arad. A man asked for his help to move some boxes inside a building.
Judicial sources told Agerpres that as soon as the girl entered the building, the situation took a dramatic turn. “The man attacked her and put a cutter to her throat. He asked her to have oral sex and allegedly tried to tie her hands”the sources report. Faced with these threats, the teenager reacted promptly: “but the teenager struggled and managed to escape“.
After managing to avoid the aggressor, the girl immediately went home. There he told the whole family what happened to him.
The reaction of the authorities
That same evening, the girl's mother went to the Police to file an official complaint. The representatives of the Press Office of the Arad County Police Inspectorate confirmed that the actions were quick: “the man was detained in a short time, and later he was presented to the magistrates”.
The court ordered the preventive arrest of the 46-year-old suspect, who is being investigated for the crime of attempted rape.
