Specialists from Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor answered the question of a resident who found fleas in his apartment, although he does not have pets. As the department explained, insects can enter homes in several ways.
According to experts, fleas are often brought in from the street on clothes or shoes. They can also enter the apartment from basements where stray animals or rodents live, or from the entrance – if the neighbor's pets have fleas.
If insects are found in your own apartment, you must carry out the treatment yourself and at your own expense. Before this, you should seal all the cracks through which fleas can penetrate, and after treatment, carry out general cleaning.
If fleas are found in common areas – entrances, elevators, basements – you must contact the management company.
