The press service of the Norilsk administration spoke about the results of work for nine months of 2025 on the treatment of stray animals.
The catching of stray animals in Norilsk is carried out by the contracting organization Bytovik LLC on behalf of the Department of Ecology and Integrated Maintenance of Territories of the city administration.

“During the reporting period, 569 stray animals were caught. Their further fate was as follows: 244 individuals, after veterinary procedures, were returned to their former habitat; 248 animals found new owners and found a home,” said Andrei Dobrovolsky, Deputy Head of Norilsk for Municipal Affairs.
Specialists from the contracting organization carry out routine catching of animals, marking them, sterilizing them, and providing the necessary veterinary care. After this, the dogs are returned to their previous habitat, handed over to new owners, and if they show aggression, they are kept in a shelter.
Applications for catching stray dogs in Norilsk are accepted 24/7 by the operational department of the Housing and Communal Services Department.
