“Kyiv Camerata” will play a concert in memory of the “Ukrainian Paganini”. Where and when will it take place


The ensemble team reported that the musical event will bring together several stars of the Ukrainian stage – conductor Igor Pilatyuk, violinists Bogdana Pivnenko, Taras Yaropud, Nazariy Pilatyuk. Kotorovic’s daughter, violinist Miroslava Kotorovic, will also perform at the Philharmonic.

The artistic director of the “Kyiv Camerata” Bogdana Pivnenko shared on Facebookthat the meeting with Kotorovic became decisive for her in life.

“He was called the “Ukrainian Paganini”. 1993. Bogodar Kotorovich’s master class in Kharkov and he invites me to his class. The meeting that determined my life,” the violinist wrote.

The concert in memory of Kotorovych will feature masterpieces of world classics – Concerto for four violins by the Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, “Campanela” for violin and orchestra by the Italian composer Nicolo Paganini, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by the French composer Amile Saint-Saens, “Prayer” by the Ukrainian composer Vasily Barvinsky, “Diptych” by the Ukrainian composer Miroslav Skorik and many other works.

Context

Bogodar Kotorovic is a laureate of the international competitions named after George Enescu (Bucharest, 1967) and Nicolo Paganini (Genoa, 1971), People's Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the National Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko.

The violinist was the founder and long-term artistic director of the National Chamber Ensemble “Kyiv Soloists”, taught at the Pyotr Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, where he trained a galaxy of famous musicians.

His interpretations of Paganini's works brought him particular fame, in particular his performance in 1999 on the legendary Cannone violin by Italian instrument maker Giuseppe Guarneri. He became the first performer of many works by Ukrainian composers Valentin Bibik, Vitaliy Hubarenko, Miroslav Skoryk and represented Ukrainian art on prestigious world concert stages.
