A Krasnoyarsk resident rented someone else's game console and sold it to a pawnshop

In Krasnoyarsk, a person accused of fraud will appear in court. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region.
A 33-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk contacted the police duty station with a statement about the theft of a game console with gamepads worth more than 38 thousand rubles.
Law enforcement officers established that the victim posted on the Internet announcement of delivery consoles for rent, to which the young man responded. He payl per day of using the set-top box 900 rubles and askl deliver her by taxi. However, he did not return the goods within the time period specified in the contract and stopped communicating.
“During operational activities, criminal investigation officers identified the suspect and detained him. He turned out to be a previously unconvicted 19-year-old resident of the regional center. As the police found out, the guy initially did not intend to use the console: he sold it to a pawnshop and spent the proceeds of 25 thousand rubles on personal needs,” the regional police said.
A criminal case was initiated against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. The sanction of the article provides for punishment of up to 5 years in prison.
The criminal investigation has now been completed. The man was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave the place and proper behavior.
